WE Soda is the largest seaborne distributor of soda ash and we deliver from our production sites to hundreds of destinations in more than 80 countries.
To achieve this we have an integrated supply chain and global distribution network that operates around the clock to serve customers in every major market. Increasingly we are offering end-to-end supply and we now serve many of our customers direct to their factory gate.
Portland, US
WE Soda operates the largest dedicated soda ash port facility in the world in Portland, Oregon.
The T4 port operation has around 4 million mtpa export capacity. From there we serve customers in Latin America, Asia and other locations.
Our product reaches the port via railcars loaded at our sites. We have 30,000 mt storage capacity and as well as loading ships from the warehouse we can load specialty products and soda ash direct from the railcar.
As the largest supplier with the broadest reach in the global seaborne soda ash market, we are able to serve customers in every market through the most resilient supply chain.
Derince, Türkiye
Our main export terminal in Türkiye is Derince Port. The majority of our production at Eti and Kazan is exported, with almost 70% exported in bulk from our dedicated port facility at Derince.
Approximately 300km from our production facilities, Derince Port has a 330m-long pier that can load the world’s largest bulk carrier ships at a rate of over 2,200 tonnes per hour. Our facility has a total silo capacity of 95,000 mt and we ship 2.5 million tonnes of soda ash from there every year.
We currently use silobuses to transport soda ash to Derince but in future much of this will be by rail as we extend the local rail line directly to our Kazan site.
United Kingdom
WE Soda operates three distribution hubs and we deliver our products directly to our customers.
At Immingham we have a 36,000 mt of storage capacity and have the ability to support 250 road tanker loadings per week. We also have 12,000 mt storage capacity at our warehouse in Glasgow and 6,000 mt storage capacity in Garston.
These facilities give us first-rate UK handling capabilities and supply security for customers nationwide.
Europe
WE Soda’s distribution network in continental Europe has grown significantly to include a major facility at Terneuzen in the Netherlands and smaller hubs in Germany and Austria.
Europe is a key market for WE Soda and at Terneuzen we can serve them from our hub with 90,000 mt storage capacity. From there we transport our products either direct to our customers or to other storage facilities by road, rail and barge. Our warehouses at Haldensleben and Krems bring us closer to our customers in our and are more pieces in building one of the world’s most sustainable, reliable and customer-focused industrial supply chains.
