Eric Sorrells is our Mine Services Unit Manager at WE Soda, with nine years at the Company and over 20 years of experience in the mining industry.
Growing up in southern West Virginia, Eric developed a passion for mining through his grandfather’s coal‑mining stories. Today, he is proud to carry on that legacy by supporting and developing the next generation of miners alongside a team committed to the industry’s future.
He oversees mine conveyor systems, ventilation control installations, and key infrastructure and construction projects.

Meryem Çiftçi’s journey at Kazan Soda began in 2016, right after graduating in Chemical Engineering from the Middle East Technical University.
Joining during the Company’s establishment phase, she has grown alongside the plant itself – taking on diverse roles and gaining hands-on experience across field operations, design, testing, and commissioning.

Halil Emre began his professional journey in 2015 at Eti. Starting as a Production Engineer, he played an active role in ensuring that production processes were carried out efficiently and reliably.
Appointed Production Supervisor in 2018, and in 2020, he advanced to the role of Production Manager, where he now leads production planning, operations, and long-term sustainability efforts.
