We are developing two major growth projects in the US and Türkiye. These are a significant expansion of our operations in Wyoming's Green River Basin, and a sixth processing unit at our Kazan site.

Together they would extend our production of cost-competitive, lower-carbon natural soda ash as global demand develops.

Green River, US

WE Soda has access to significant trona resources in Wyoming, USA. The Green River Basin holds the most abundant trona reserves on the planet - estimated by the USGS at over 23 billion metric tonnes of soda ash equivalent, representing hundreds of years of potential global supply.

Our existing Westvaco and Granger facilities near Green River already draw on this resource and we also hold permits that allow us to expand our operations into an adjacent area.

This area has the potential to add meaningful additional production capacity over time. We previously envisaged this as a standalone development, Project West. Following our acquisition of the US business (Alkali) in February 2025, we now plan to develop it as an extension of our existing Westvaco and Granger operations, rather than as a separate greenfield site.

This approach, using shared utilities, infrastructure and personnel already in place, is expected to lower capital costs and shorten execution time compared with the original standalone plan. We will use our proprietary primary solution mining technology, its first application in the US, together with conventional and secondary mining methods to recover the trona, and we will look to extend our mine area when market conditions support the investment. With our existing export facility on the US West Coast, this expansion would allow us to ship more Wyoming natural soda ash internationally as demand develops.

Over time, an expansion of this kind would be expected to bring economies of scale, helping lower our unit costs and support additional local employment. Our Wyoming-produced natural soda ash is already more cost-competitive and more environmentally friendly than soda ash made synthetically in China or Europe, and further development of this area would be expected to strengthen that advantage.

We continue to monitor market conditions and will provide updates on the timing and scale of this development as our plans progress.

Kazan, Türkiye

Our Kazan site, near Ankara in Türkiye, began commercial operations in 2017 and now produces over 3 million tonnes of natural dense soda ash and sodium bicarbonate each year.

We have plans to grow Kazan further by adding a sixth processing unit, Unit 6, which would take the site's production capacity to around 4 million tonnes a year. Unit 6 would use the utilities, infrastructure and experienced team already in place at the site, allowing it to be delivered at relatively low capital cost and brought on stream quickly.

The expansion would also broaden the range of products Kazan can offer. This includes lower carbon products and specialty grades such as pharma grade sodium bicarbonate and sodium bicarbonate used in flue gas desulphurisation, alongside further improvements in the site's efficiency, carbon footprint and waste.

We will look to proceed with this investment when market conditions support it, and will provide updates on timing and scale as our plans progress.
